Building the Church – Impacting Communities
Just imagine groups of young kids running and playing… Imagine them being able to hear the word of God… Imagine that this is potentially the only chance they will have to participate in a sports camp, not only a camp that can change the way they play, but a camp that can change the way they live. The vision of the “Kids 2 Camp” program is to provide financially challenged families with young kids with the opportunity to have a camp experience, but more importantly, a chance to experience the life giving message of Jesus Christ. Sports Outreach is committed to serving the local church and committed to seeing families reached. We believe that one of the best ways to do this is through sports camp opportunities where young kids can engage the physical, mental, and spiritual components of their lives while hearing the life changing story of Jesus. Our goal is to connect them and their families to the church so that they might be brought into a community of believers that can care for them and nurture them on their spiritual journey. We invite you to partner with us in making this vision happen. Together we can make an impact on the lives of young kids and their families while building the church.
Ministry Plan
Designate a campaign director. Plan a “Kids 2 Camp” campaign, date and timeline with Sports Outreach Staff. Designate a campaign director. Determine the amount of Sports Ball Banks you would need and order from Sports Outreach. Publicize the “Kids 2 Camp” campaign in the weeks preceding the Sports Ball banks pick up date. Distribute the Sports Ball Banks (Participants complete a registration card when picking up a bank) Send out reminder postcard one week prior to bank collection. Collect Banks on the designated date. Follow up phone call to all missing Sports Ball bank holders. When collection of all banks is complete, call Sports Outreach for pick up of banks and money. (Donations by check are tax-deductible.) If out of state we will ask campaign director to take monies to the bank and have a check made out to Sports Outreach Association.
